Privacy Policy
Nova FTP Manager (“the App”) is published by novalab (“we”, “us”, “our”). We’ve designed the App to handle your files with the same care we’d expect for our own.
The short version
- We don’t collect personal data from you when you use the App.
- We don’t use any analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs.
- Your files transfer directly between your devices and the servers you choose — we never see them.
- Account credentials are stored in the Apple Keychain on your device.
Information we do not collect
Nova FTP Manager does not collect, store, transmit or share:
- Personal information such as your name, address, phone number or date of birth.
- Usage analytics, telemetry or crash reports unless you actively send them via the App Store / TestFlight feedback channels.
- Contents of files you transfer through the App.
- Server addresses, usernames or passwords you configure.
Information stored only on your device
To make the App work, certain information is stored locally on your device — never transmitted to us:
- Server configurations (host, port, protocol, preferences) — stored in iOS app storage.
- Usernames and passwords — stored in the iOS Keychain, protected by the device’s passcode/biometrics.
- Rename presets, session lists and transfer history.
- Self-signed TLS certificates and SSH host keys generated by the App.
If you enable iCloud sync, the items above (excluding passwords, which never leave the Keychain) may be synced via Apple’s iCloud Key-Value Store and iCloud Drive to your other Apple devices signed into the same Apple Account. This data is end-to-end encrypted by Apple where supported. See Apple’s iCloud documentation for details.
Network connections
The App initiates network connections only to the servers you configure. It may also use local-network access (Bonjour/mDNS) to advertise an FTP server on your local Wi-Fi. The App does not connect to novalab servers as part of its normal operation.
Third-party services
The App is distributed through Apple’s App Store. Apple may collect information related to your purchase, download and crash reports independently of us, under Apple’s own privacy policy. We do not control or have access to this information beyond the aggregated reports Apple provides to developers.
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be highlighted within the App itself.
